"The Golden Radio Voice" - Is He Worth LeBron Money?

I suspose he does deserve a chance. But it leads me to wonder about all the good radio people who can't even get through the front door. I guess you have to be a druggie and alkie and stand by the side of the road with a cardboard sign for someone to even look at your resume these days.

I have to agree with Kelly. Too many board ops looking for their chance, many of which have great voices. It would be unfair to those folks who've kept their noses clean over the years, reported to work day in and day out, wondering when the axe will fall on them, to see someone like thaty take a job that they have waited far too long their careers for.

Yes, but you can't just assume that just because they can board op, or have worked in the biz before, that they are good. If they were, they'd be getting job offers to join the Cavs. ;). And I'm sure I don't need to make a list of how many successful broadcasters are into drugs, and they still have jobs. He's getting voice work. It's not like he's getting his own advice show or something.
Let him work. It's all about right place right time. He didnt ask to be filmed and discovered.

I'm fine with the second chance. I just hope all of the information that lead to the media glorification is air-tight true. Given his admitted problems and story, I hope that if he becomes successful, it doesn't go to his head. If he becomes hugely successful, he'd better give back to the homeless community and those organizations and services who may have helped him along the way. I hear that he has a number of children. He's probably been a bad or totally missing father for a long time. It's time for him to step-up and fix that and support those people, including the mother of his children. I wonder if there's something in him that will cause him to mess up these unique opportunities that he's being presented with.

The question then is, has he defeated the drug/alchohol demons? Beyond that, will he be able to consistently be at work on time, work the full 8 hours over the long term without taking many days off for whatever and do all the normal things that come with full time employment? He's not going to be pampered all the time like he is for the short time he's a media darling. A year or so from now, maybe less, he'll be a subject for the "Whatever Happened To..." column that the Plain Dealer runs. 4 years from now, he'll be a trivia contest question... and a good one I might add.

I posted a prediction on the National TV board that "Teddy Pipes Game" would be getting his own reality show. Bank on it.

The bigger question is, can he play a little ball.

My God, did you see what the Lakers did to us last night?!?!

The flaw with what was just posted is that a lot of god people don't get the national attention this guy did.

Good people don't get publicity. Remember what put Rover on the map? A fabricated story of a kitten tied to a balloon. Bill Gates? Stealing ideas. If Ted actually planned this out, he's brilliant.
The most powerful and famous people are also the most corrupted and evil.
