...is that 1330 KWFM has beaten KMXZ "Mix FM" to the punch and has started playing--you guessed it--Christmas music as of today. Ho-ho-ho!
 
Does 1330 even have an office anymore or have they just taped an Ipod to the transmitter and went back to Yuma? Did the police force ever show up? Did Dawn Avalon run out on owner Sprei? Is that what he was talking about when he was waiting for the cops?

It would appear that everything said over these last couple of years about the drama, the finances, the staffing, the complete failure of owner and management. It looks as if it was all true. I sure would love to hear from Alan Michaels about what really went down before they ousted him as well.

But for now, I'll just sit back and listen to all my favorite mono Christmas tunes until 94.9 kicks in.

Most well known Christmas songs were recorded and played in mono for years.

KWFM and KGVY seem to be in a race to see who can ignore the fact that Christmas is over the longest. I'm guessing both will keep the holiday "favorites" going through Tuesday. At least KGVY continues to run their usual weekend syndicated program schedule. KWFM obviously can't afford syndicated programming, so not a factor for them...
 
KWFM has flipped from Christmas music to soft/pop rock. Wonder how long this will last? Mostly non-stop music but I did hear spots for the Chicago Music Store and Fifth Street Deli & Market.

Audio quality is pretty good for AM radio but the internet stream is sub-par: http://www.tucsonsjolt.com/

You beat me to the post. KWFM must have dumped the holiday music sometime overnight last night (30/31). So KGVY wins the "who can drag out Christmas the longest after the actual day" competition. They were still at it all day today. Although they did, appropriately, end their AM broadcast at 5:10 this afternoon with "Auld Lang Syne". So maybe tomorrow the tired Christmas music will FINALLY be put away for another year. We can hope.

They have spent a few bucks on a nice jingle package that sings "Star". Not exactly an original name. KWFM will be less than a ratings Star. The budget is undoubtedly STARvation.

The new jingle has I word in it I can't make out. It goes: "Star 1330, Tucson's ----- station, KWFM". What is the missing word?
 
It's no accident. Nobody can understand the Star. I wish them luck but am not hopeful. Even "Judy G" seems to have bailed on them. Looks like it's Mr. Jittery and his iPod, and a vigilant eye out for the "police force".

I've been listening for a few days to 1330.

What on earth?
This reeks of someone who wants a station "That plays something for everyone"!
Only 1 or 2 hits per hour are allowed. Someone must be tired of stations that play too many familiar songs!
Truly something for everyone. 3 or so elevator music instrumentals per hour.
BAD 80's stiffs such as Peter Cetera. Also Lionel Richie Do It To Me and an unknown Annie Lennox song.
Jennifer Paige with the wrong mix of Crush, Rhianna Only Girl in the World. C & C Music Factory.
Also your offical DeBarge station!

Only 3 jingles, one of which is Happy New Year, another that can't be understood.
Use of same jingles at random into spots or where ever.
3 songs in a row with a dead roll PSA in between each.
Two clients that sound like they are probably trade for IT service and lunch.

I'm sure if someone tells management that "they've never heard anything like this" said management feels good about it!
Who exactly will listen to this besides radio people trying to play "Guess the stiff"?
I repeat...What on earth?
