The Jig Is Up "Bertell Dache" is not "Tony Orlando" and Paul Is Not Dead!!
For 47 years, record collectors have claimed Bertell Dache is Tony Orlando...and radio DJ's who specialize in Artist Bio's have perpetuated that myth. In my endless quest to collect those rare songs I recently came across a copy of "Not just Tomorrow, But Always" (1961 answer to the Shirelles "Will you Still Love Me Tomorrow") with a picture of Bertell, and he is most definitely not TO, but in fact a demo singer for King/Goffin, as was TO at that same time. They did sound very similar and when Tony became popular a few years later, the rumor was off to the races.
Also, Paul Mccartney recently confessed that Brian Epstein, had started the "Paul Is Dead Rumor" prior to the release of "Yesterday And Today" LP. He (Brian) felt the Beatles had run their course and he needed to keep them in the spotlight. Paul was selected after Ringo (1st choice) and George (2nd choice) both turned it dowm due to superstion on their part.
