The Joe Buck Show, otherwise known as the 2013 MLB All-Star Game

Was anyone else as irritated as I was with the "Joe Buck Show" last night on FOX? Couldn't they have found someone to do the pre-game show instead of His Smarmyness?

And then the slobber-job over Mariano Rivera ... okay, he's the best closer in baseball, but geez louise, you'd think Buck worked for the YES network.

The comment in the top of the 8th inning, as Rivera was warming up, really chapped me. Buck talks about how the AL also had Joe Nathan, the Rangers closer, in the bullpen, but after informing us of that fact, Buck added, "Of course, he's no Mariano Rivera." Yeah, Joe, we get that. Get your lips off his nether regions and do your job as a play-by-play broadcaster.

The FOX Yankee cheerleading is getting really annoying. I dare say Buck is more irritating than Ryan Seacrest.

Fixed. ;D

Fox knows where the ad money comes from. At least they don't have the Red Sox man-love that the Eastern Seaboard Partisans Network has. They also tend to be more NL-friendly, notably the Dodgers-Giants and Cubs-Cardinals rivalries, than The Mothership is.

And Buck restricts his love for Dallas to the NFL. Texas baseball is all but irrelevant to a national audience, including most in Texas (Cheer up - football starts on August 4th).

Heck, practically all Buck does anymore are Yankee games. Cardinals-Cubs last weekend was an exception, as was Dodgers-Giants a few weeks before (was really shocked Buck and McCarver went to that game). He's almost as much a voice of the Yankees as Michael Kay.

Glad I missed the vocal lip gloss... Meanwhile, there will be more attention to north TX football than baseball, yes, but this year, I'm afraid it won't do any good (when does it start in 2014? :D ) ....

Not to mention that Rivera's appearance (And perhaps Neil Diamond's singing (??) of Sweet Caroline in the 7th Inning) were about the only highlights of the evening & Joe was simply trying to add some excitement to an otherwise BO-RING game. Can he really be blamed for that?

Cheers & 73 ;D

It's Rivera's last All Star Game. He pitched great and was named MVP. Buck is supposed to ignore this?
I get that. But Mr. Day-Glo Lip Gloss had the entire thing to himself. The pre-game AND the post-game, in addition to the PBP.

Buck is fast becoming the most irritating character on Fox, second only to Ryan Seacrest, IMNSHO.

And if it wasn't for the 16-second delay between live radio and U-Verse, I'd turn the sound completely down.

I don't get it either. Jack Buck was cool. How come Joe Buck comes off as an arrogant prick? I can only imagine how it'll be when Super Bowl XLVIII rolls around in East Rutherford, NJ this February? (FOX is airing the game.)
