The Lake and WMJI running the same iHeartRadio playlist

I have read on other boards that during the overnight hours, many AC/Hot AC stations have been airing the iHeartRadio oldies playlist.

I discovered tonight that The Lake is doing this. And right now WMJI is also running the PC feed. Which means if you are listening online, you are getting the same exact playlist for 105.7 & 106.5.

What is the point of online streaming if you aren't streaming the actual station content? Seems stupid to me. I get that nearly all of the oldies/classic hits stations are airing the same PC playlist now (same as the "Cool Oldies" station too) but why add it to non-formatted stations, therefore taking away that station's actual stream?

That's weird its happening online for both stations. Their over the air feeds are still separate. How strange. Maybe its a technical issue.

No it is intentional. Many AC and Hot AC stations advertise "classic music overnights" exclusive to their IhR stream. But typically not in a market with a classic hit station

a lot of time in the over night on music stations owned by CC. seperate the Iheart radio streams from the terrestrial signals. theres times when ive had WMMS's online stream from Iheart on. they are airing parts of Rover's morning glory when the music thing says the song thats airing on WMMS
