The LAST Doowopp Radio Show On Terrestrial Radio Goes Bye-Bye Tonight!

My station, WRSG/wrsgradio.com runs "Story Untold" by P.J. Noce Wednesdays from 2-5 p.m. I would love to pick up another doo wop show. As we're non-commercial, we can do anything we want-except pay show hosts, unfortunately.

Cool Bobby B (Bobby Backman) has a Doo Wop show Sunday nights at 9 PM on SiriusXM 50s on 5. It is also heard Tuesday at 9 PM on WLNG and WLNG.com. I believe that other radio stations on the web carry it.

I was going to mention Cool Bobby B's Doo Wopp Stop as well.

I WIll Give You That, But....

I think CBS-FM may have sounded like Good Time Oldies when it came back after being Jack for a while. Except I don't think the 50s were there and there may have been fewer 60s tunes.[QUOTE:]

There was more 50's and 60's being played in 2007 when the station came back - the station was a lot more interesting with the specialty shows on the weekends, and the fact that the Sunday night specials were acknowledging the station's veteran air personalities (and the music). Sadly, the last time CBSFM sounded like the CBSFM that I knew was in July 2012, when the station celebrated its 40th anniversary - sadly, they did NOT acknowledge the 45th anniversary last year; i haven't listened to it since 2014, when an air personality who shall remain nameless was brought in to do the morning show - and others were laid off at the same time :(

Not in N.Y. but 2 Terrestrial Doowop radio shows from Connecticut- Rockin Richard show on WNHU, West Haven Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wild Wayne on WWUH Hartford Sunday 6-8 PM both also stream. These shows both have been on for over 35 years.

Now That's A Miracle!

Rockin' Richard's STILL on? I remember him from back in the days where there was a doowopp radio show on "every corner", in a manner of speaking - good for him!

I had forgotten. I only know what I read here.

Those Oldies But Goodies

I had forgotten. I only know what I read here.

that's okay - that's why we're all here - to educate each other (especially from those of us who grew up in the NYC area - and in an era where there was at one point a doowopp radio show "on every corner" :D )
