Somebody please verify this for me!
A while back a few other posters and myself pointed out how Allan Handelman's show on WRDU may have been handicapped in the ratings by the show that aired directly before it. I recall on several occasions hearing a syndicated program in which Alice Cooper (yes, that Alice) spun some tunes. Now I think Alice Cooper is an excellent performer onstage, but he is not a radio person. It came off like bad college radio. I don't think WRDU carried it for long.
Today I recieved yet another CYA memo from Mr. Tidwell at Clear Channel. He says WRDU never carried any such Alice Cooper program.

I appreciate you taking the time to send me your input and I will take a moment to address your concerns.
You said Sunday nights on WRDU were "killed" by a show by Alice Cooper. In the 2 years I have been at WRDU we have never aired the Alice Cooper Show, you must have us confused with another station.
It has nothing to do with "Getting" The Allan Handelman Show, if I was going to take it off for personal reasons I could have done so 2 years ago. My job is to grow ratings and Allans show was not performing. There is no doubt other stations in the area can pick up the show and that may happen. In the meantime you can listen to his show on the web at www.ifitrocks.com.
Sincerely,
Jimmy Tidwell
Program Director WRDU

Somebody help me out here. I am fairly certain there was a syndicated show hosted by Alice Cooper on 106.1, Sunday nights immediately before Handelman, more recently than two years ago. On the other hand, I could be going prematurely senile. Was it perhaps a limited-run or one-shot program? At any rate I would appreciate some definite yes or no verification from other *former* WRDU listeners.
