The MRC Pulls Accreditation for PeopleMeter Radio Numbers in Riverside-SB

Where's David when you need him? And it wasn't the only market they pulled the accreditation either, there is a bunch of them! The people meter sucks, but we always knew that.

The PPM is considerably better than the diary method, but Arbitron rushed into the rollout of the 48 markets. They did not realize that doing a panel based survey with a much smaller sample than a diary based 90-day survey was harder to configure and much harder to maintain. There are issues to resolver for accreditation, but overall it is a better survey.

Watch how little impact it makes on the actual buying and selling of radio ads, the ultimate purpose of the ratings in the first place.
