The "New" Morning X already out of "new" ideas???

I heard the new morning x today do a new game that "they came up with". It was called "Steakhouse or Gay Bar". It sounds very silmilar to a game that Whip plays on the Buzz called "Steakhouse or Gay Bar". They played the same exact contest that Whip has done on the buzz over a year. I heard that Fram's husband records all of Whip's shows...why didn't he speak up in the show prep meeting?(I know he's not in the meetings...it's a joke)
Also, there's a picture of Monti Carlo with the morning x on 99x's Homepage. I don't get how this one time leader in a Major market is doing such small market mistakes?

The 99x morning crew are too lame, braindead and unimaginative to think up their own games. That would require them to actually think. Which requires more than one braincell to rub together. They only have collectively one braincell. Therefore they must steal other's ideas.

We all lie, we all cheat, we live in Hell! But, with that said, that's lame that they'd steal a bit from a competitor. I heard it and Shawn said something to the effect that they'd brainstormed and just came up with it. He who steals from a radio person steals twice.

Every show "lifts" bits from other shows, but usually as a matter of credibility you don't to steal inside the market. That looks very bush league. Weak, weak.... Hey Jim, isn't this supposed to be the "upgrade" show!?

Give em a break, their dealing with forced chemistry because of new members and they'll need more than a month to get up to full speed. Plus they're starting from a bit of a deficit considering all of the drama going on at 99x over the past two years etc, give em some time to get up to speed before you pronounce the show lame etc.

Only fair right?.

What does that have to do with ripping off audio from across the street?

Yeah, really. No one can tell me they can't come up with one original concept other than to rip off Whip's show.

Maybe X and Whip ripped it off from the same source out of this market. You are assuming they intently listen to Whip's show and ripped it off. They probably picked it up at DJ camp.

Here's a game...Which does Sean prefer? Men or Women? Same for Leslie ;)

While I realize it's hard to come up with new material these days, shows could at least take concepts and spin it to make it their own. Maybe show #1 could come up with an idea where someone has to crawl through rat-traps while blindfolded to win cash. Show #2 could do a bit where someone wins money for however long and how many rat-traps they can keep on them.

This wouldn't be the first time that 99.7 has stolen from 105.3. They actually stole from MJ once.

Isn't that a shock. A San Francisco station and where did Sean previously work........

Wow I guess they didn't rip off the almighty Whip but someone else. Shocking. Why do I think that Whip has not been doing it that long?

Rtibbs, my man, you keep on bitchin' at my boy whip. Whip did this in PHX. 1993. At the Edge. He also worked in...SF. Before Dumb-ery. You figger it out. I think it's cool you support the X. Actualy I've noticed that you really have a thing for Q more than X but...inside the co.? Cumulus I mean. Way to go. Co. man is the way to go these days. Now apologize for being a....EDIT PERSONAL ATTACK. Cheeeese.

:D And another thing! Sean said, or so I've been told that "we just came up with this" I smell a liar. And it stinks like Castro Street condoms deposited in the flushie flush. Dig? RTibbs? Resonde vous?

Anyone that has to copycat, an acrosstown copycat who is obvious enough to rip something
off from a website should not be in a Top 1,000 market, muchless #9! That's just totally beyond unthinkable. That's like
saying Star 94 everytime you turn on the mic on Q-100. How are they getting away with that!

96 Rock needs to hire (Dr.) Dick and Stone to kick these guys butts at 99X! They've got original content
including a sidekick named (seriously) Nick De La **** and they are pretty hilarious, refreshing and play
to the right age group. That's about all the humor from that department they have. But, it's pretty out
there and is really funny, but not obnoxious. Then again, why would anyone want to consider a different
and slightly intelligent, yet funny, team. It makes to much sense. Actually, I heard they are being considered
by someone, I was told it was 96 Rock, since they were looking, but that's not confirmed.

You think I work for Cumulus, pretty funny. As far as Q goes any post I made was probably about what a little wuss Bertie boy is. If anything you should have sone a lot of posts on the Regular Guys and 790 the zone.

But you on the other hand seem to know alot about Whip's career. I am sure you are just a casual fan who has followed his meteoric rise in the business.

I dunno. The talk was just in passing. I know there is an old Florida connection, but exactly what, I have no idea.
The brief three or four bits I heard myself were pretty funny. I think the key is that they "say and then play it."
No fifteen minute talk-a-thons because Stone said on the intro that people run from morning talk on rock stations,
but not from fast paced stories and humor. He made a lot of sense and the Dick guy is a real Dr.of Mass Communications
who sounds really straight-laced and precise giving Stone lots of fuel to trash him. They seemed to pair really well
and was obvious they love to get at each other, but that they are human. Doubt they'll get a shot. They were
actually good.

Tibbs, I'm going to search for them and if I find something I'll link it here. You got me curious now. And if you like fast-paced, get to the point styles you really should give Whip another try. I think it's because they play music but he doesnt linger around when he means to say something.
