WOGL, its a 90% done deal, just heard from my boss, CBS wants out of the Oldies market in all cities. Now comes the fun part, they struck a deal with Radio One and Greater Media, all parties were involved. Here is the low-down, WOGL flips to SJ, BEN switches to Oldies, with some Standards mixed in, 97.5 is the New Alternative, it might be the other way around, that part was vague. Current Airstaff is history, Radio One is out of the picture. Notice!!!!! I said 90% and not 100%, because as we all know, in this business, nothing is definite, but this is really close. The next few days/weeks will be tramatic, if you don't hear from me, either I was fired, or cannot post anything else. Sorry I had to take a few important things out, so I had to Edit, I love my job :), don't want to loose it :(.

When will the change take place? if this is true, start rolling tape.

What have you been smoking? (And where can I get some?)

Since when do station operators get together to make deals on who does which format? Even were they disposed to do so (highly unlikely), there's the Anti-Trust division of the Justice Department to deal with.

Save your tapes, Julius.
Any bets on how long before Julius' mother throws out all those tapes? (It's what mothers do.)

Posters come on here with that kind of stuff just to get Julius stirred up. And it works.

I CALL BRAVO SIERRA (BS). CHANCES ARE THIS GUY WONT POST AGAIN ANYTIME SOON, IF NOT EVER.

WOGL PD is Anne Gress. She had been WJJZ PD. But I doubt WOGL will flip to smooth jazz. (but I hear AM1540 may go All Polka soon!!!!)

Julius: why can't you roll tape on the station yourself? Why do you keep demanding other people roll tape on the station? If you are so interested in the possible format change, you should roll tape on WOGL yourself, so you have it to jizz over...instead of posting here and demanding others send you the aircheck.

. One, I have no blank tapes left and our family finances are very low right now, so I don't think I can buy blank tapes for a while. 2 It would be historic to have recordings of a station like WOGL because its been nearly 20 years as an oldies station. With that in mind, lets get back to the topic at hand here.

Hack: I understand where you are coming from with your response. However, instead of coming on here and demand that other people roll tape on the station, he can do it himself. It's not difficult. Some cheap blank audio tapes cost a couple of dollars. I would be willing to buy tapes for Julius and mail them to him, so he will stop demanding airchecks from us all the time...and so he can roll tape on the station himself.

Julius: e-mail me your mailing address and I will mail you a supply of blank audio tapes so you will stop demanding airchecks from us all the time.

I fail to see where Radio One is involved in this "deal". Unless you forgot to mention that 100.3 is switching to "Hot Hits". Come to think of it, a few weeks ago I did see an elderly man with the initials "M.J." check into the Red Roof Inn in Trevose carrying a Boom Box! ;D

I have offered to purchase blank audio tapes for Julius to roll tape on any station that he wants. In an e-mail, he has declined my offer. He claims his mother has enough money to get him tapes, despite his claims his family is broke. Since he has declined my offer, I have asked him nicely to stop demanding that we roll on stations for him. I find it unnecessary for him to demand that we aircheck stations for him...after he has turned down a simple suggestion to do this on his own.

I was not demanding. I wanted the collectors to record radio history in Philly for themselves, not for me. Anyway back to the topic.

Julius, Julius, Julius...
  • Most of us are not "collectors."
  • People who are collectors don't need you to tell them what to record or when to record it.

Apparently, Julius has also not accepted an offer made on the neo-nazi board to get him a subscription to satellite radio so he can listen to ballgames either.

I don't want this topic to be close so enough about me. It was my choice not to take that offer even though I didn't know about it, plus My mom can't afford it.
