The new place for Smooth Jazz on your radio in Philly is....

Getting off Julius for a moment.

Like the one guy said, what does Radio One have to do with this? Are you all suggesting they were bidding on 97.5?

Simple, CBS probably gave Radio One an undisclosed amount to keep SJ off their 100.3 property, thus, giving CBS the leadway to execute it on 98.1. I don't know how GM got into the bargaining with CBS and R1, probably had something to do with 97.5 also picking up SJ or Alternative.

I'm glad you're defending your own fake thread. How many names do you post under, "OHara"?

I'll believe it when I hear it on the radio. Although anything is possible, I do not see WOGL changing their format any time soon. The station does well in the ratings (almost always in the Top 10). Then again, I never tought that WCBS-FM in NY would change, either. I will go with with my gut feeling in that WOGL will stay the course, and stay with the 60's/70's format, along with their specials ("Elvis & Friends", "Brunch with The Beatles", "Street Corner Sunday", and Bob Pantano.)

Those are 12+ "beauty contest" numbers and they don't mean anything.
Money matters.
That's why CBS flipped all their other Oldies stations (all of which were doing OK in the "ratings').
If "Ben" had not come to town first, OGL would be Jack now.

"Stay the course?" That's what the bridge officer on the Titanic said when the look-out called, "Iceberg dead ahead."
You've been listening to Bush. Admit it!

I think we can pretty much confirm OGL isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. OGL has just started a TV ad campaign. I've seen it on various channels about 7 times since Saturday, including a few times during the 2 Phillies game on ummm whatever ch57 is called right now yesterday.

Usually if there is even the thought of looking into flipping a station, one of the first things they do is suspend all advertising.
