I just did a count of titles from Midnight until 1:15pm today.

Gold plays by year:
1981 - 2
1982 - 3
1983 - 3
1984 - 2
1985 - 4
1987 - 6
1988 - 3
1989 - 1

All of the 1980s titles are "recognizable hits" from the New Wave genre, i.e. "The Metro" by Berlin, "Strangelove" by Depeche Mode, "The Reflex" by Duran Duran.

1990 - 1
1991 - 2
1992 - 3
1993 - 3
1994 - 4
1995 - 4
1996 - 1
1997 - 8
1998 - 6
1999 - 8
2000 - 5
2001 - 10
2002 - 7
2003 - 7

93 gold plays total.
24 were 1980s (roughly two per hour), 26%.
18 were early- to mid-1990s, 19%.
51 were 1997 to 2003, 55%.
Approximately an even split before and after 1997.

Four (sometimes five) currents per hour.
Currents appear to be on a very odd rotation; most (power rotation appears to be eight titles) repeat every 2½ to 6 hours, although at one point "You And Me" by Lifehouse repeated one hour and eight minutes from its previous play, and then repeated again one hour and 23 minutes later, all in morning drive.

There were no gold repeats, although some of the recurrents did play two or three times in twelve hours.

Still looks like "KROQ Lite" to me.<P ID="signature">______________

Interesting, their new logo looks a bit more like a cross between their sister station Star94.1 and their former alternative sister 91X both from San Diego .
Hmmmm....
