Just wondering if anyone is out there who worked on Eastern Avenue, John Street, Pavillion Avenue, or ALL THREE ? :-\

Sure...it was like the old Fezziwig story...it couldn't be measured by the money that we made...since we didn't make any. Lots of great memories, and top notch people, like Ray Daulton, Art Waterman, Paul McArthur, Jim O'Brien, Ann Carter, and the list goes on and on. I was there back in the 80's, and then returned for awhile in the 90's, both times as a weekender. Remember, once they moved out of the old house (Eastern Avenue), there was a short time on John Street, before the move to Pavillion Avenue (from what my hazy radio memories allow me to remember).aqualung said:We actually have a station people enjoyed working at on here?

And. of course, Jim O'Brien telling us someone used to call saying, "Is this Jim O'Briman?"

I think that everyone in Rhode Island radio worked for WHIM, at one time, or another.McRadio said:Ron did work at WHIM. I check those WPRO blogs and he had something up there about being on air during the blizzard of 78 with Jim O'Brien. Didn't Amy Hagan work at WHIM too before she started using the other parking lot?
Don't know about overnights, but I do remember (since my parents used to listen to the FM, all the time) that Lee Frazier was on at night, and Arthur Godfrey (not the same one), also worked there. I had a chance to work with Arthur, years later, at WLKW-FM. WHIM 94.1 also had some pretty snazzy jingles, in the day. Of course, I was probably about 13 or 14 years old, back in the early 70's, so it's all a bit foggy.RD22 said:"The Incredible Broadcast Buggy"
Wow does that bring back memories... LOL
I had the honor to haul the buggy around when I was there.
I remember forgetting to secure it down at the Indian Ranch .while it starts to roll down the hill in the pouring rain.
Does anyone remember when WHIM was 94 FM in the 70's? Didn't they have a overnight or was it still a Daytimer.. ?
Did Dan Williams work the overnight at that time?
Yes, good ole Pappy...someone had to keep those two turntables running...those were certainly the days. If I close my eyes, I can hear the cue scratches again, like it was just yesterdayRunrigger said:Danny Williams did work at WHIM a couple of times with a bout doing radio in Nashville in between I believe.
And let's not forget the late great Pappy. I'm too young to have remembered him on the air, but he later was engineer at WHJJ/WHJY but on some sort of retainer to do work at WHIM when needed (which was always). Being old-line country you could just see the look of disgust on his face when he walked in the studio & Bob Seger was playing.
