The Quake KQKE 960 (San Francisco) new line-up, starting Nov. 6

http://www.quakeradio.com/pages/programdirector.html

6AM - 9AM Stephanie Miller
9AM - 12N Thom Hartmann
12N - 3PM Ed Schultz
3PM - 5PM Rachel Maddow
5PM - 6PM Progressive News Hour
6PM - 9PM Mike Malloy
9PM - 11PM Randi Rhodes
11PM - 12AM Eco Talk w/ Betsy Rosenberg
12AM - 3AM Lionel
3AM - 6AM Bill Press

Franken is gone completely, and Randi gets delayed another 6 hours. This is great news, however, for Hartmann, Maddow, and Malloy (who gets his first non-Nova M affiliate clearance).

This is a big deal. This is the first AAR affiliate to dump Franken and a CC station no less. With Nova M, Jones, Product 1, and Talk USA Radio now in the mix, I think that the future of AAR with their $20 million bankruptcy is definately in question.

This one is bizarre. They cut Randi to two hours to give her third hour to EcoTalk, which is hardly the most compelling thing on the schedule from AAR? Is this show based in San Francisco or something?

Not only that, it appears creator/host Betsy Rosenberg's "day job" is as a reporter for CBS Radio's all-news outlet there, KCBS.

Betsy lives with her husband, Alan, and daughter, Jenna, in Mill Valley. In addition to being a two-hybrid car family they generate clean electricity from the solar panels on their roof and have a compost pile in the backyard. They have plans to put in bamboo flooring, which is a very renewable resource, and whatever else they can do to walk the Ecotalk.

I don't know if her local roots played any part in the decision, tho. I also don't know if she's still with KCBS after the AAR show went daily.

Seems even as AAR moves in a syndication direction, its hard for them to put a guy like Franken on another station (if one wanted him) seeing that all of their main network shows are branded with "Air America Radio". This confuses people into thinking they're still a straight network (and leads people to call in to Lionel and Steph Miller and say "I love all of you guys on Air America") and makes it difficult to split shows between stations.

Kind of a Mao meets Bob Vela. It's astounding no ones outside of the Bay Area wants to clear her show.

Oh, and the Progressive News Hour is back? The 0.x it got the first time was so compelling to put it up against KCBS and KGOs PM news.
