I thought this was interesting. Seems some audiences are smaller than I imagined.

It's amazing that George Noory's numbers are that small considering the show is seemingly on every station late at night from one end of the AM dial to the other. What a waste,

Yeah, I also thought Noory's numbers would be higher.

I was also surprised that some of these people were even still on the air, you just never hear about so many of them anymore. Also surprised that Hannity's numbers were so close to Rush's. And that Dr Laura was still so popular.

Would be nice to choose a la carte who is broadcast locally.

Noory's numbers are what they are because that's about how many people are up and listening to radio overnight.

The numbers are actually pretty good for an all-night show.

If you'd like to make a comparison, check a stations normal 6a-7p audience, then look at the overnight cume in an Arbitron book. It's quite a big drop, percentage-wise in the majority of cases.

I, too, was surprised that Dr. Laura's numbers were as high as they were, and that Glenn Beck's numbers weren't higher. I also noticed Mike & Mike didn't even show up...Maybe they aren't on as many stations as I figured.

I flat out don't believe the Dr. Laura numbers. The only strong stations I could find in a (not exhaustive) check are KFI, KSFO, KEX, WJR, and WHO. In many markets she's on low-rated or non-rated stations like WSAI, and she's not present at all in many major markets.

Consider that WSAI is almost certainly her highest-rated affiliate in Ohio. Her second biggest affiliate would appear to be WCER in Canton.

I wonder if Mancow's numbers as shown still include WKQX in Chicago, and if he has only a fraction of that audience now. It appears 96.5 and an Indianapolis FM are his only big market stations with much potential. (In other big markets I noticed on his affiliate list he's on low-rated AM's). He was popular enough in Chicago I wouldn't be surprised if he gets back on the air there. WKQX's ratings collapsed after he left.

There may be some people on that list, and I'm betting Lionel is one of them, whose numbers mostly come from a single big-city station, WOR in his case.
