The Return of Brother Wease to Rochester Radio

Let me offer a perhaps uninformed comment and question here.

Channel 13 led with this story at six the day of the announcement. (The time in the bottom right hand corner was 5:59 on the clip that played on their website.)

My first thought was, "nice self-promotion and let's not bother to disclaim the cross-ownership..."

But my second thought was, "Well, maybe this really was the top story of the day."

What do you think? Those of you that watched other channels that day, where (if anywhere) was the story placed?

There's no great love between West Henrietta Road and Midtown Plaza. 13 (except for maybe a telethon or blood drive w/ WHAM/WDVI/etc.) operates quite independently of Midtown. It was the top story of the day.

I see Bob1370's point. And yet the New York based investors are buying into the Clear Channel model. Many potential clients could have issues. Can Wease develop a base. Can he remain genuine. And will the somewhat anonymous outside investors even care about content or will they cherry pick the numbers on the balance sheet and brandish a sword.

Wease has to develop a whole new show. CC is bad enough but outside investors is a whole other deal. Does he have a chance? Yeah. I'd take the Entercom deal and keep the posse, brand and calls however.
