The Rise and Fall of HD Radio in Sacramento

HD Radio will be a thing of the past, like DCC (Digital Compact Cassette). I have a Denon receiver that has the HD stuff, but I never use it. Some in my family the HD on it stands for the TV part since it has HDMI jacks in the back.

That seems possible. It may take a while, however. In '07 I had an 1986 Toyota Cressida with a factory radio with AM stereo. At that time the only station with the am stereo signal was KDYA 1190 Vallejo.

While I respect your option, there's research that shows it's unlikely.

The technological evolution is moving way too fast for a slow adoption cycle. 5 years ago the average lifespan of a mobile device was 18 months. In 2012 that number is 6 months.

Get me a Bluetooth stereo link to my mobile device and I'm good.

HD radio is on the outs.

Tell that to CBS

KFBK HD.2 is back on with programing called "Country Roads". It seems to be more like hot contemporary country . KNCI HD is now off. No more" The Ranch" HD-2 or KHTK on the HD3 channel. 93.1 has no more hd.2 either. Seems like Sacramento hd has been a crap shoot lately.

How does CC expect to sell that with The Wolf and KNCI in town?

Agree, HD Radio is on its way out and I kinda like it. It opens up an opportunity to listen to some of the out of market adjacent channels.
