16 Tons - The Platters

And I can pretty much guarantee that I am just about the only one, or one of the very very few who has the bluesy yet upbeat, jazzy version of that one, complete with a great orchestra/band compliment. Oh yes, babies.

A couple years ago on one of my favorite public radio shows, "Says You!", the band played the intro to "Fever" as a musical clue, and one of the panelists sang "Sixteen Tons" to it. And it worked!
