Hmmm... this seems to be the sound of hit music TODAY. AIn addition to this, think about many of the other rhythmic and top 40 stations nationwide! I'm thinking.. if done correctly, a dance leaning rhythmic or top 40 should start being able to work just about anywhere, anytime now...

Yeah I can finally enjoy Rhythmic radio again... While alot of Dance POP is out now,,, there still isnt really any pure dance out,, unless David Guetta and Kelly Roland takes off.... B-96 Chicago has really been Housing it up lately.....

I just saw an advertisement on FOX 10 T.V. for the new Just Dance cd compilation, featuring what they call some of the hottest new dance tracks..

The tracks they chose to use for advertising and background play were "I know you want me" by Pitbull, "disturbia" Jody Den Broeder mix by Rihanna.. "Human" remix by Killers, Ne-yo - "mad" ultimix..etc.

Here is the track listing for the entire cd:

1. I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) - Pitbull
2. Disturbia (Jody Den Broeder Edit) - Rihanna
3. Mad (Ultimix) - Ne-Yo
4. Human (Armin Van Buuren Remix) - The Killers
5. Mercy (Hot 22 ) - Duffy
6. Touch My Body (Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Remix) - Mariah Carey
7. Feel Your Love (Extended Mix) - Kim Sozzi
8. Absolutely Positively (Moto Blanco Remix) - Anastacia
9. She Came Along - Sharam - (featuring Kid Cudi)
10. Squeeze Me [Fedde Le Grand Remix] - Kraak & Smaak - (featuring Ben Westbeech)
11. Come Back To Me (Tony Moran & Warren Rigg) - Utada
12. Just Go (Mike Rizzo Funk Generation) - Lionel Richie
13. Infinity [Klaas Vocal Mix] - Guru Josh Project
14. Alive [Jason Nevins Electrotek Radio Edit] - Annet Artani
15. When You Leave (Numa Numa) [Basshunter Extended Mix] - Alina
16. All I Ever Wanted [Extended Mix] - Basshunter

I noticed how they are trying to use mainstream pop artists to appeal to the public and gain acceptance. With this logic, it's safe to assume that this way of things could and hopefully will work for radio, too. Eventually, with the way it's all going now, dance should at the least manage to make it back to the way it once was around 2000 when it comes to radio acceptance. Also notice the arrangement in which the songs were put onto the c.d. It's very obvious what they were trying to do. I just find it odd they'd try to do all of this without even thinking to put anything by Lady GaGa on the c.d. Not even "day 'n' nite" by Kid Kudi or even "closer" by Ne-yo! It seems that they were somewhat obviously trying to focus on certain tracks and things more than others, for whatever reasons, when making the cd. The tracks they used to advertise, I don't believe are the tracks they REALLY wanted people to hear or pay attention to... but it's also possible that they weren't even thinking about any of this and I'm just over analyzing and reading too much into the situation.
