The closest I've lived to Boston is NC, but I grew up listening to WBZ at night, and was a big fan of Larry Glick. Wish we had been able to hear it better without fading and the frequent interference of KDKA in Pittsburgh, but those memories are still wonderful. Probably a big part of why I have loved the medium of radio all my life.
I've read some of the "behind the scenes" type of postings about Dave Maynard, Carl DeSuze, and others, but I'd love to hear from those of you that worked at WBZ in the Glick era.
He seemed like a genuine nice guy to me, and perhaps he was or wasn't, but I loved the show and was very proud to win my Glick University Tee shirt and yes, I've kept it clean!
The internet is wonderful in that I've obtained some great audio files of the old days but I would really love to hear some firsthand stories from some of you Boston radio veterans and local folks that knew the Commander.
Thanks in advance!
