The station that makes listening to the radio feel special...

...B98.5

They are doing another theme weekend, this time it is all #1 hits. That is how they were promoting the weekend. In the words of the cartoon character Hank Hill, "I don't know whether to laught or vomit".

Like last weekend with their "Whatever" weekend, they are playing rap (I am not kidding). They played Usher's "Yeah!" right after 3 PM (which features Ludacris rapping). Last weekend, it was Nelly and Notorious BIG. B98.5 has been going weird for the past few years...but they really are taking risks at a level I have not seen Cox do.

With Steve and Vikki coming, I wonder else is coming. While highly unlikely, I won't be totally surprised if they do flip away from AC (hot AC or adult hits), and call whatever format they go to "Soft Rock".

If I were to guess, I think they see Star94 floundering with old Steve and Vikki listeners still lookin for a station. Maybe they'll go in and finish what Q100 started and knock them out.
