The Transformation of KFWB to News/Talk

Yeah Clips joining KFWB. Eric Pincus posted it on his twitter. Makes no sense to me, but who am I to question the wisdom of CBS suits. hehe

The only person that should be considered for the drive-time slot is Tom Leykis. The guy is sitting on his 20 acre ranch in Los Olivos sipping wine and collecting paychecks from CBS. He would bring some balance to the line-up. We don't need another right-wing gab fest at KFWB. I really enjoyed how Leykis handled the election coverage. It reminded me of his KFI days. I hope CBS puts him back to work and starts earning his paycheck again.

Leykis is an unhappy miserable old misogynist fat pervert, Imus is more interesting even when you can't tell if he is actually breathing. Leykis rode to prominence on KLSX as the afternoon Howard Stern clone and once Stern jumped onto the bird his relevance faded. I like biting edgy programming and thus was a Stern fan, I also enjoyed Bill Handel more in the days before his show was sanitized after "NippleGate" and the Stern and Bubba The Love Sponge fines. Thanks to producer Michelle for posting some of the old Dick Cabeza songs, by the way.
How did Leykis's relevance fade away once Stern left??? Leykis was #1 in his target demographic!

I would assume that his demographic would be Beavis and Butthead.

He is an evil leering fat old man with strong misogynist leanings. Howard also tends to be leering, or at least pretends to, but he has class. With Howard gone the whole momentum of the KLSX format dwindled and Leykis wasn't strong enough to keep the ship afloat not even with Carolla in the lead and I for one thought that Adam had more talent, than Leykis, but suffered from the shadow of Stern. His show was bright and interesting, the only misstep being that attempt to add Bonaduce. What were they thinking?

IMHO the KLSX FM_Talk format except for the afternoon was well done and appropriately tailored to the various dayparts, excluding afternoon drive.

That being said and there are many that feel like you.... You have a new talk station that needs a drive-time host. They won't put a syndicated show on 3-6pm I would be shocked. They have a host that IS STILL ON THE PAYROLL based in L.A. and doing nothing, it just makes perfect sense. Leykis can transition back to issues oriented talk. He is under contract for three years. He once had Dr. Laura as a lead-in. It's a no-brainer! Look for this to happen. CBS calls Tom tomorrow or next week and orders him to show up for work in September and he will be at the Miracle Mile Studios and no need to draw up papers and sign any contracts. He is their employee already. Sorry if this makes some of you cringe. haha

You can't just go around saying how much you hate Leykis, and assume that "he couldn't keep the ship afloat." Once Stern left, Leykis carried that station, the ratings prove that. I listened to Carolla almost every morning, I loved it, but that did not carry the station. The ratings proved that, which explains why they brought in Bonaduce for one year. You gotta admit, that did increase ratings, and bring much needed attention to the show. I just never could understand how everyone people can call Leykis's show dumb, when all the time he preached how everyone should get an education, and spoke of social issues. He will be back, the format will be back!

I understand who TBA is, but who the hell is Michael Smerconish???

Oooh, they'll burn you at the stake in Philly for that! ;D

Oh. Should have guessed. Another faux conservative that sold out his conservative principles (if he ever had any) to kneel at the Altar of Obama.

Instead of being a true American conservative by taking money from the corporate altar and pray for government contracts while bashing the same government for spending money on those contracts.

Your reply doesn't make any sense as that is the behavior of both liberals and conservatives in big business dependent upon government corporate welfare.

The more obvious and relevant comparison that you couldn't bring yourself to make is the one to Rush Limbaugh. A true conservative that doesn't sacrifice his principles, is willing to say things that are correct, even if they are not popular, and has a tremendous career, level of ratings success, and relevance in the political world simply unmatched by any faux-conservative or liberal of any kind as a result of his adherence to those principles.
