I had a couple few interactions with Arizona politicians in my time (mostly recording PSAs or handling a talk show/podcast remote session) and it was an interesting mix. I never let on my political leanings, but for the most part the politicians and pundits on the right were friendly enough, even when I handled an interview on NPR's Weekend Edition. Same with a couple sessions I handled for Pod Save America. The one weird thing I saw was when I had a Governor in studio who became known for wagging a finger at Obama. We were making small talk, and she was very personable...until the hangers-on arrived (in the form of managers). They were getting pictures and glad-handing when someone mentioned some policy thing (immigration, IIRC) and it was like someone had thrown a switch. The friendly lady I was talking to morphed into her "final form" in an instant, and started shouting at Obama as if he was in the studio next door. I was like "um...he's not here right now, and what happened to the person I was just talking to?"
