Since QWK and BUS must have done well with Men, who was the Female winner 18-34, 25-54 and 18-49....Froggy, 3WZ, maybe Joe FM? G101 and B94.5 all teens? That 94.5 zero talk workday thing is so stupid - the only reason they do that is to save money...people want to hear jocks talk. I bet what really hurt B was when they played that unedited version of Panic At The Disco and I agree with someone's early thoughts on the station's voice guy and imaging - they really suck. I think they are voice-tracked all the time - even heard they don't have one full-time employee on the station. I say talk more, cover some local news, expand the playlist to 1000 songs for variety...no one wants to hear the same songs over and over again - ask Mike Joseph and Rick Sklar's ghost...they didn't get anywhere trying that brand of radio. And maybe they should hire gargoyles - he seems to have the answers and proven major market experience we all one day hope to have.

It is interesting to note however when one stops trying to cherry pick the tunes and just plays what the charts say people like what the reaction is. Oh, relax. I shoulda tossed in an "LOL" or "ROFL" somewhere to make it clear I was just poking some fun. It's just so funny to see you two going on and on about what a Big CHR Battle you're having--and how you're gonna kick *ss & take names--and then have R&R post rankings with both of you down there behind "police calls." It started last summer, didn't it? That's two books, now--a full year of this--and you're both still down below The Mighty 1390.
Not to be mean, but if neither of you can get past WRSC (Mr. Nelson + 20 hours of network), something ain't working right, you know? And, yeah, if 50,000 watt WGMR can't figure out how to slip past tiny WMAJ (a total plug-n-play operation), well, it's gotta be embarrassing. But instead of sitting back and reflecting on it all for a moment, you're both back here trying to make everyone believe that it's chicken salad instead of ... well, what it really is. In fairness, the rumors about iPods killing CHR seem to have some basis in fact. You may both be flogging a dead format to death. It wouldn't be the first time.

Hermes if I may point out, before you go bashing things and what not make sure you have your facts right...have I made a post yet in this topic about great GMR is compared to BHV...nope the only one tooting his horn is a certain somebody who works for BHV...
Yes as the PD I am quite embarrassed by the numbers and trust me I will be making adjustments to secure a hopeful better (actually much better book). Does this mean format change? As of right now...No I don't think so...Does this mean tweaking what we are doing right now, YES! very much so...
I won't say what or where we need to turn things around cause the competition reads this board, but if you private message me I will clue you in a little and hell I'll even listen to your thoughts and ideas as well.

I don't even think its worth debating the #'s, especially if you are only looking at the 12+ digits as that's not the true tale anyway. Of course since we are not subsribers, I have not seen the book in its entirety, but I will say that a few friends have said Congrats and indicated that Bee fared well. In terms of G101's showing, man it seems awful low to say that AJ should be embarrassed with his ratings. I will tell you that I have known the guy for a while and he tosses his heart and soul into that place. And as for CHR being dead to IPODS...sorry aint buying it. never did...and I am not ready to now. If you look nationally at the trends, CHR is still very viable indeed. CHR stands no more chance of being killed off by Ipods than country, jazz, A/C or any other flavor you choose. But we must certainly adjust our approach for accommodate today's Ipod lifeteyle (case in point...the zero talk workday). No DJ's seems weird to me. I am a radio guy, but guess what...it works! People like it. Even B94 in Pittsburgh is currently Jockless for the workday. Just perhaps we are on to something???
I still contest that G101's and B94.5's biggest enemies are each other for the mere fact this market just isn't big enough for 2 CHR's (or 2 of really anything else for that matter) and perhaps that can be seen in Joe's sudden slide downward. Perhaps the initial ride is over?
I know AJ is going to take this as a jab and it isn't meant to be, but if it were my money, I'd say its time to throw in the towel and do something else. They've been CHR for what 4 years or so now and they've had peaks and valleys but more or less never set the world on fire. Believe me, I'd be saying the same thing to our guys if we were in that spot. I just can't believe its not financially a better move to pick a new direction, but again its not my call and its not my money so I am sure AJ & Ted and Cary will do whatever they feel is in the best interests of the station and I wish them luck in their ongoing tweaks.
Only time will tell if I am right, but I sincerely think fast forward 1-2 years and there will only be 1 CHR in the valley and that station will probably be better and stronger for it also. The pie only has so many pieces and right now we are both competing for the same sliver. Someone's gonna get fed and someone's gonna hungry or perhaps we both will starve first. You got me.

As for radio, I know nothing compared to you mental giants…that is why I wanted to be enlightened by the Professor. It’s radio, it’s a utility…nothing more or less than a light switch or a garage door opener…or even a tube of toothpaste. I wonder if there is a site somewhere with geniuses from Crest and Colgate arguing over who has better whiting ability?

At the end of the day, I still like AJ, Ted and the crew and I wish them the best. Of course as a competitor I also wanna beat the pants off them but I mean that in the nicest way possible.
By the way Hermes just curious....I don't expect you to drop your cover, but do I know who you are? I have a feeling I do but I could be wrong. Don't have to tell me who you are...just a simple yes or no will do.
