Early Byrd

How many personalities still on the air in this area were working in radio, either here or elsewhere, before 1970?

I'm sure there are more, but 3 that I know for sure are

1. Mike Addams (Magic 106.7) - he was on the air in his native Daytona Beach, Florida in 1966.

2. Ron Dwyer (WATD) - was one of the DJs on the short-lived Top 40 days of WORL (950 AM) in 1965-66 period.

3. John Garabedian (House Party) - was on the air in Worcester in the early 60s, perhaps even 1959 while still a high school student.

Others?
 
Sam Kopper, Program Director and on-air host at WBCN from 1968 into the '70s, is now director and on-air at the "WBCN Free Form Rock" channel on 100.7 WZLX HD3.
 
Clark started in '66 at WBIS Bristol CT, '67 WCCC & WPOP Hartford , WBUR in '70, WBZ/FM in '71, WCOZ, WEEI/FM, New Hampshire and most recently WCAP. Next?

If I remember right John was on WAAB 1440 AM during the early to mid sixties.
 
Dave O'Gara is another one that comes to mind. Dave worked at WORC-AM in the late 60s and has come full circle so to speak. He is now at WORC-FM spinning many of the same songs he did back when he first started.

And I believe he was using the on air name Johnny Gardner.

He was indeed Johnny Gardner, but he worked at WORC, not WAAB. He shared the 9 AM-noon shift with the station's owner, Bob Bryar. John also worked at WPTR in Albany for a while.

He was also Johnny Gardner on WFEA/Manchester circa 1965.

WHRB's David Elliott has been on that station since approximately 1960. Lynn Joiner of "Hillbilly at Harvard" has been on WHRB almost as long.
 
The bio of Dick Pleasants on the WUMB website says he started in radio in 1970, so he just misses, but the start of Dave Palmater's radio career isn't pinpointed. He looks like he might have gotten in before 1970; does anyone know if he did?

I believe that Dave Palmater started in radio on WTBS (now WMBR) at MIT circa 1971.
