Oof!

Billionaire financier and investor Thomas H. Lee was found dead at the New York City offices of his firm on Thursday, Feb. 23. According to police, Lee committed suicide, dying of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Lee is best known in radio circles for running one of two private equity firms that bought Clear Channel Communications in 2008. Thomas H. Lee Partners and Bain Capital paid the Mays family $17.9 billion for Clear Channel in a leveraged buyout just before the financial crisis. Thomas H. Lee Partners was also part of the PE consortium that owned Univision Communications, until its sale to Searchlight Capital Partners in 2020.

either he was dealing with a terminal illness that he decided he didn't want him or his family to suffer, a sudden lost of wealth or he did something horrible that was gonna lead to a prison sentence had charged been filed and he was arrested for.
