Thoughts on Radio Disney and Kids/Tweens radio

I don't think I'm too far off posing this question in the CHR/Mainstream board, so here goes.

I've heard it said that radio is abandoning young people, that they've already abandoned the medium for TV and the internet. I know Radio Disney is pretty much a marketing arm for The Disney Channel, but with all of the younger music and TV acts that have become popular (obviously High School Musical and Hannah Montana) a few CHRs have smartly added a few songs to their rotation.

Radio Disney stations are mostly on AM, the side of the band for us older fogies who know what 'AM' stands for. But I wonder what impact it might have on young radio listening if they started migrating to FM stations. Could Radio Disney or a format catering to kids and young teens make a difference, or are these listeners (regardless of how many there are) already listening to CHR radio?

The only people who listen to Disney Radio are little kids with strict parents who wont let them listen to the local Mainstream, Rhythmic, or Rock station. Little kids usually have cheap Generic radio's,,,, and usually have the antenna broke off, why would these kids struggle to hear a weak AM station when the local CHR is right there on FM coming in loud and clear, and then they dont have to set through a Donald Duck song to hear Daughtry.

Like some little 8 yr old is actually gonna take the time and patience to fine tune the AM signal in, and knows how to string up a loop antenna,,,

yeah I broke my antenna when I was a kid :D, radiodisney is not really that bad anymore, they are really just a chr with some more disney artists
