Three Indy guys buy Carolina Station - one is former WKLU employee!

I can remember that kid when he did overnights at WKLU. Before they changed their format WKLU was the only place for us all night guys because they would actually pick up the phone and talk to you. Kendall was pretty crazy. Not everything he said was funny but you could tell he had a lot of love for what he was doing.

I know the station's former owners - Tom Stanley and Jeff Milliken. Jeff has it about a year. It's between Wilmington and Laurinburg. Hot, humid and not much there. Good luck to the new owners. Just don't count beach traffic as potential listeners.

All sports? Whew...tough format. Ascertain the community and learn what their needs are. Wilmington has an ESPN station that reaches the area and so does Fayetteville.

The station will serve the community of license and the county. The path is also clear to go to 5kw. But the concern would still be the county.

And there are no plans for an all sports format. It will be all local news and community information focus. There will be local sports of course, including high school games on video via the internet.
