yes, you all can pick up CKMX 1060 AM and the jimmy and jodi hughes show from clagary, in western WA. starts at 5 AM our time, and fades out with daylight. it may seem hard to believe to some of the AM radio "doom and gloomers" on this board, but AM country radio is alive, living and still relevant in some places.
go ahead, give it a try............don't worry, your FM wolf howl countrypolitan jive, will still be there waitin" when CKMX fades out with daylight.

I said I wanted More Cowbell Mr. Salvatori not more Cowflop you are being a bad influence on the young folks... Pretty soon they will all be wearing Blue Jeans with shiny buckles, boots and driving old pickup trucks....

I understand with the letters KXRX, this scenario might make you nervous....

But seriously, I'm with him in the sense that country classics rule and this Classic KMPS-HD2 thing is actually a pretty good jukebox, but it isn't working. At least with all the extra wattage going to the extra station that only very few can receive over the air.

To tell you the truth, why not contact Maynard, Crow & West. They may have countless artifacts from back in the original KXRX days for you to use.......Now if you can only locate that original KXRX Voice-Over guy, was his name really Pinball O' Boyle?......

ya, that young country thing was the next seattle chapter for 96.5, which rose from the ashes of what had evolved into a great rock station, KXRX. the trade mark "young country", was intended for a younger teen demographic, and to set itself apart from the country music stereotype of twangin' cheatin' drinkin' smokin', old man type of country that urban listeners were percieved to be scared of.

you think i got harsh words for our FM country outlets today.........back then i was doing a weekend afternoon shift, at AM back marker, KJUN. i guarantee you i had some critical but, comical on-air sarcasm's about that young country debacle. what a crock, and embarassment to see my beloved country music hashed out in that farcicle, clownish manner, which never set any ratings on fire. ironically, i think it was KMPS parent corp that eventually bought em, and disolved em. politics makes strange bedfellows, as it is the only time i agreed with anything KMPS ever done for country music.........

i think a few young country badged stations still survive in a couple markets.
