Time For A Little Fun: Your Dream Radio Station in LA

9-Noon: Limbaugh
Noon-3: Rome
3-7: John & Ken
7-10: Mason & Ireland
10-?: George Norry

I'd go back to when radio was worth a damn - bring back KNX-FM.

If any station was available to me, and capital was not an issue, I'd buy KLOS-FM and flip it to an All '90s and Today CHR with all local and live on-air jocks 24/7. If KABC-AM was also acquired in the mix with KLOS, I'd reposition AM 790 as an all local and live talk station. Additionally, if it is possible to get a power increase for KABC, I'd implement that option as well.

I would acquire 93.9 and then acquire the Citadel stations 95.5 and 790 in LA and then try to acquire 100.3.
93.9 would be Alternative Rock under the REV>93.9 banner
95.5 would be a new CHR format simply known as 955 Hit Music Now (with the call letters KABC-FM)
100.3 would be the new spot for KLOS doing what they're doing right now.
790 would become "All Dodgers Radio on 790" during baseball season from mornings until after the after game coverage, and during the offseason (with the exception of preseason games) the station will be brokered.

Well, now, if you are going to involve multiple stations in this "what-if" pretend scenario, why not go all the way and acquire all of Clear Channel, Cox, Citadel, CBS, Emmis, and a few of the smaller companies and do "whatever you want" with each station? 8) If capital was not an issue, that would be fun!

Excuse me sir, there is no criticism on this thread ;D
You can go ahead and take all the stations in LA and switch them to different formats if you want. Want to go for it?

There was no criticism intended. I was simply lifting any limits and caps on the number of stations since you had mentioned more than one station you would like to take over and program. I actually like the idea you came up with using multiple stations.

Hmm, I may take you up on your challenge and re-program every Los Angeles radio station just for kicks. Let me give it some thought before I make my list. Stay tuned for further upcoming exciting L. A. radio.

How's this for a dream station?

KOVR -- all cover tunes from the '60s to today. The music would range from typical — All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix (a Dylan tune), Respect - Aretha Franklin (Otis Redding), Crossroads - Cream (Robert Johnson), With A Little Help From My Friends - Joe Cocker (Beatles) to eclectic — In Your Eyes - Jeffrey Gaines (Peter Gabriel), How Deep is Your Love - The Bird and The Bee (Bee Gees), Bizarre Love Triangle - Frente! (New Order), Time After Time - Eva Cassidy (Cyndi Lauper), Across the Universe - Fiona Apple (Beatles).

Thus, songs you know and love in versions you may or may not have heard before.

If 93.5 The Beat was still around, I would flip that and turn it into Party 93.5, playing CHR/Rhythmic/Dance!
