In honor of the passing of the biggest and the best Oldies station ever, I have just posted a 15 minute scoped aircheck of Dan Ingram on CBS-FM. This goes back to 1998. Audio quality is spectacular, even for a 20kbps Real Audio stream.

Here's the direct link:

On a side note, you guys PLEASE be civil! This is radio, where stations come and go. I'll try to dig out all the CBS-FM material I have and post them as I have time.
______________

Does anyone have or know where I can listen to an aircheck of that fateful switch. I am just sick to my stomach about this.
______________

Check Brooklyn67's post below in the "Audio: CBS-FM's flip to Jack" trend.

Wow thanks! it's not even the best Dan Ingram aircheck I've ever heard but somehow when Dan messes up it'e even funnier! CBS-FM sounded so goo there. It's sad to think they would flush something that sounded so good.

I think the real truth of the matter is the "Baby Boomers" influence in the world is lessening and we are not ready to give up quite yet. We grew up with radio. Many of the kids today grew up with the Internet.

I will have it shortly. Planning on posting it as part of a major format change presentation. Be patient, it may take till the weekend to get all the elements put together. Anything this important has to be done right.
______________

Hey, did I ever send you that Aircheck of WCBS from 1997? It has Bob Shannon on it, about 45 mins (or is it 90?) unscoped!

I liked CBS-FM best when Big Dan was onn, even with the pre 64 music gone. The DJ's seemed to make the station. Good sounding aircheck.

BTW, I set up a retro CBS-FM stream up using the old jingles (Goldmine, Custom 3, PAMS Resings & Do It Again) and used the 2000 Top 1001 as a start for the music. Tune in at http://67.83.115.5:8010 (MP3@64kbps)
______________

Let me look through my airchecks storage bins. There were a bunch of cd's that didn't get posted due to many factors, but I'm collecting all of them for a massive reconstruction effort. I'm planning on bringing CBS-FM back to life... well, sort of. I'm putting together an entire site worth of 101.1 material. Just watch. You'll like.

Anyway, I'm sure you did, lemme just look to make sure it's there.
______________
