Time Warp.....Chaz Mixon on the radio this morning.....

I live around 100 miles south of the metroplex. This morning at work I hit the seek button on the radio and it stopped on some Rock-N-Roll. I like Rock-N-Roll so I listened for awhile. They were playing some really good stuff. Reminded me of the old KZEW from back in the '70s. & '80s. And as that thought was going through my mind, a song ended and a voice came on....."this is Chaz Mixon here with you"..........I had to check and see if I was awake or napping. LOL! Sure enough,I was awake and it was him. It's a new station out of Lovelady. To far away for you in the Metroplex to pick up. But I am loving this station. We here in east/central Texas have needed a good Rock-N-Roll station for a long time. This afternoon on the way home they even played Uriah Heep! ;D

Here is the only information I can find on the station.

KHMR-FM 104.3
Route 2 Box 187
Lovelady, TX. 75851
Ph: (936) 636-2859

Does anyone here have any more information about this station?

Thanks,
Travis Cockerell
Fairfield, Tx.

I suspect you heard the satellite classic rock format from ABC, or Citadel Media as it's apparently now calling itself. Chaz is the morning guy on that format, and he also does fill-ins on the "Today's Best Hits" format. You can also find Frank Welch from KVIL and the short-lived CD-107.5 on the format, and, from more recent times, Debbie Alcocer from KZPS is on overnights as Debbie Douglas.

Yep. Well done and usually has a pretty good selection of music. They did go through a period where you would hear Freebird at least once a day. There is a station out of Paris that plays a similar format but has a little harder edge to it. 96.5 My Rock I think.
