Tom Finneran Comes Down With A Wicked Case of Foot-in-Mouth Disease

yikes... I'm surprised Wendy Murphy didn't beat the crap out of him right there...

the larger question, though, is why were they talking about something as unimportant as Britney Spears, anyway.

I'd have to bet Brintney in a smackdown with Tommy. She got 35 pounds on him, easy. ::)

What's the over/under on how many more months til Mr. Finneran finds himself doing midday weekends on AM680?

Entercom's employee handbook prohibits "On-air remarks made by... air personalities that advocate or condone criminal violence or which contains blatantly gratuitious violence tied to a socially irresponsible message"

Could be why Howie changed his "caning/tasering" segment to "who should retire"?
Will Entercom punish Finneran the way the NFL punished Belicheck (or even worse; could he
be terminated?) Slap on the pinkie, coming right up. As for Howie, be careful, guy; where else could
you get a job in this town if they let you go--oh...right. Forgot :)

Though one comment (by Judy F.) on the Herald messenger blog says people are wayyy too
sensitive these days ("this country is really taking innocent comments, and stretching them way out of proportion. I NEVER would have taken any offense to that statement. ". (Interesting theory: what if it had been a male celeb and Finneran called
for a "dopeslap"? Hmm. The Three Stooges did _those_ all the time...

Howie's personal PR flack at the Herald has been on WRKO's case since she started her press release column. No big surprise why she would try to blow this one so out of proportion. She has vested interest in promoting her Herald slugs Eagan, Howie, McPhee. Can you say conflict of interest? Has she ever done a full disclosure about her fellow Herald employee when writing about the 7 million dollar man?

Check out Billy Graham and Jay-Ess on 96.9 any day. The stuff they say is by far worse and more radical than Finneran would ever mumble out on WRKO.
