Tony Bruno on Yahoo Sports Radio next week

Surprised we have yet to hear from "lifeguardofradio" on this development yet...

I don't normally listen to over the air radio - especially sports, but when I saw this, tuned in on Sirus XM and listened to Bruno to see if he was totally shot yet. Sounded sharp and pretty good, even with no guests or phone calls during the hour I heard him. With all of the new networks and anonymous no names and assorted marginal talents, hard to believe this guy isn't doing anything regular on a national level.

would you say, it's a national outrage?

i'll show myself out now.

Now that Tony is a free agent you can bet the farm that the listener/affiliate challenged "Gowboys" in Houston are lavishing him with opportunities...what's the over under on him joining YSR and replacing the Diehards??? I say July 21st...

OK, so I didn't take into account Tony's non-compete...so here's how I think this plays out. Beasley is now picking up 610 from CBS. YSR already has a content sharing arrangement with Beasley in Las Vegas for the Ken Thompson show and it's a the perfect example of David Gow's model. He only adds hosts who bring an affiliation (or three) and he always seeks ways to share the salary expense. So figuring Gow can't afford to pay Tony what Tony wants/deserves and neither can Beasley. No problem, "let's put Tony on 610, make it the flagship for his show on YSR, and we'll split his salary"...and maybe include a rev/share component. Beasley switches from CBS Sports Net to YSR and Tony's fans at YSR finally get him back. Gow's already hosting Tony's podcast on the YSR site and it's loaded with the usual over the top YSR imaging...could the rest fall into place after his non-compete is up? I think it's a cold stone lock!
