TOUCH 106.1 DROPPED THE M---ER F----- WORD THIS MORNING

Johnathan Gates the assistant weekday morning host/comedian said it while they were talking about poor business in Boston Urban Neighborhoods
Now, that, I'm not down with
I understand they are trying to be different, to talk about issues that other normal radio stations will not talk about (which is good for the listeners to know about)
However, that bad language is not called for.
They didn't even bleep it out
Not good

When I listen to the radio, I like to listen to good music with positive good information (without bad words like that)
That was uncalled for of what they did

They did apoligise to their listenners right after that.

It's not like anything is going to happen to them. The FCC can't take away their license due to broadcasting obscenity, because they don't have one. I guess they could slap them with another fine that they won't pay.

Yet another reason why they will never qualify for a legitimate
license. A fine role model for the community! ::)

Claim you can't pay the fine? Seize every asset you can find:
house, car, garnish wages, radio equipment, etc. Make the
pirates walk the plank, once and for all! If the sharks get a nice
lunch out of it, even better... ;D ;D ;D

What if some kid heard the f word for the first time in their life from Touch 106.1? Their innocence is lost a week earlier than it would have when they hear it at school.

As long as no one complains to the FCC about it, Touch won't get fined or lose their lic...oh wait, they don't have one.

Report the indecency here: http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgb/fcc475B.cfm (remember, the "call letters" are LP-WTCH)
Report the f-bomb to the FCC online, as well as report the pirate station here: http://www.fcc.gov/eb/PIRIX/

>It's not like you never heard the word before. And it's not like you never heard a pirate before.<
>
You seem to suggest that this is the sort of thing you're likely to get from a pirate. That's totally unfair. Just by the fact that the announcer apologized proves that it's not the sort of thing that even this pirate condones. I've heard Randy Rhodes drop an f-bomb on national radio. She was clearly embarrased by it. Sometimes even the best of us become impassioned and make such a mistake. Nobody wants this kind of thing on the radio - including pirates.

I don’t get why all you elitist none urbanites are sitting around complaining about pirate radio when without them an entire segment of the population/urban demographics would go un-served. So until the FCC or congress passes new regulations and laws to make it possible for legitimate independent programmers who are not millionaires to provide the service that pirate radio provides the average listeners will never side with you elitist online typing heads. We don’t need less pirate stations in Boston, we need more!!!!!!

[EDIT]

Also if someone has problem with bad language he/she has the right to express their concerns on this board. I in fact applaud Lauro's post for pointing out foul language! He is a well respected radio employee and radio-info poster, it maybe that he is so busy with his job that he jots things down without the MurcuryVapor board writing handbook!

If anyone has a tape of the content please post the link.

I'm sure there is SOMEONE who monitors every radiostation in Boston - even the illigal ones. :D
