Tower farm visible from I-64 east of Shelbyville

I've driven I-64 many times, but last night was the first I've noticed a large tower farm between the Shelbyville and Waddy Peytona exits. Are any radio stations using the towers or is it for cellular service? Thanks!
 
The hill there is known as "Jephtha's Knob", and that point is said to be the highest elevation in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky. And Scott is correct, there are no radio stations there.

Probably the only one that could be there is WKRD, but they are at a site about 3 miles west of there.
 
Is Shelbyville's WCND-AM 940 still on the air. I use to be able to hear them in East Louisville but I haven't been able to pick them up for several months now.
 
It's 11:45am on Saturday and they are off the air right now.

They are owned by Birach Broadcasting. Is this a temporary technical issue or have they taken the station dark?

WCND-940 has been dark for months now....at least it has not been heard at my Lexington location during that time. It is usually fairly strong here.
 
Pastor Bob Rogers in Louisville was leasing the time on it for a while.
I hadn't heard that the relationship had ended.
We'll have to give old Sima a call.
 
Well, it is, unless you call 10 watts at night fulltime.
That station is wedged in, real tight. Someone said that with todays rules, it would not get an allocation.

How close to Shelbyville is the tower site?

About a mile and a half or so to the Eastern edge of it.
