Townsquare Media of Albany's First Firing under Dan Austin's Helm...

it's funny though the only reason sugar got back on air is because of mike morgan and rob ausfeld now that there gone I am not sure what bear will do, will terry keep him ???I know sugar bear is not a big fan of dan austin.

Dan Austin has actually made these stations in albany market explode to what they are today especially FLY 92 with Terry , now that he and terry is at Town Square look for tons of changes and better formats and they might try to lead the market

Kevin Callahan did great as operations manager but he gone now Bruce Cherry who is not so good but chuck benfer general manager just lost terry who made fly skyrocket so he is in trouble now unless he can get B95 to top WGNA once again but dan austin will try and use crush to counter act b95 with that station changes its format now that chuck is gone from morning show something tells me it will be a war between crush and b95 or Fly.
 
if town square changes Crush to a rhythmic CHR format kiss jamz goodbye & possibly fly dropping in ratings , unless they can make b95.5 a Hot AC station there could be competition or a variety station like 99.5 the river.

marissa could take the pd position but that would be overload for her I am curious to see if they find a program director before electing her to the job , she wants the job badly i can tell you that.

fly 92 ratings will come down slightly

meanwhile I think mike morgan will be scouting for pamal adirondack not sure he will go back to fly that would be surprising if that's the case since he didn't do much with crush. not sure he will take sales since crush already has a sales guy.
 
I'm sure consulatants have something to do with it too. The Townsquare Media people are investors with Oaktree and just want the numbers to work, radio is not what is once was it is all run by bankers and investment people now.
 
radio stations are all digitally run now by computers so the quality is not original as it used to be when they did cd & records etc.. like college radio stations still use cd & records here and there but still digital age is taking over, most stations use voicetrack more then they should then being live. therefore they can cut back look at WPTR 96.7 they only do voicetracking and they have only 4 on-air personalitys and they can play 15 songs in one hour with less talk. people want to her good music not just from today but from present as well. I think Mr. Don Crawford is doing good I think the legends will explode if they get the right staff on board.
