WRIX changed formats after suggestions were made here! No format changes had been planned! It was for the best for the talk format to go to WANS AM 1280.

yeah, I HIGHLY doubt the changes at WRIX/WANS were made because of stuff that was said here!

How do you really know if it was what was said here on this board for the changes being made or if it came from somewhere else? i am really having a lot fo problems with all of this logic.

I would like to suggest that WRIX, WANS, and WGOG flip to ALL new music from all genres so that in 30 years we can have someone suggest true oldies on these stations.

I love oldies too, don't get me wrong.. I don't want folks to think I have something against the format.

I just know when it isn't going to work.

That's why I listen to stuff online!

A VERY good source at WRIX told me about the owner reading and following the suggestions on this board. And YES, Oldies ARE coming to FM in the Upstate and it WILL work-large playlist!

Why do I suddenly picture Dorothy clicking her heels together saying there's no place like home. ;)
LOL

Oldies oldies oldies...I can only take about 10 minutes of Shannon

You have me beat...I can only take about 5 minutes of Shannon & horrible station imaging.

We're beating a dead horse beyond death here, folks.

An owner who bases his programming on the suggestions here on this messageboard?

That is a RIOT! ;D

This guy honestly believes that..that a guy with, i dunno, a million bucks invested in a radio station...bases his programming on what is said here.

Im sure the owner reads this stuff, and finds it INTERESTING, and listens to what is said here, much the way he listens to a phone call, or takes the time to read an e mail...or regular mail for that matter.

But to think he is doing this with his investment because he read it on a messageboard...is...no, he isnt doing that.

I think goodtimesandgreatoldies is being toyed with a bit.

Know what...if the owner thinks so highly of goodtimesandgreatoldies 'consulting' hire him, bing the guy on board, pay him. stop running him around like a monkey on a string.

THAT my friend is broke ass bad management & ownership. You should be ashamed.

I think that was incredibly well stated and I cannot disagree at too.

He'll just come back here and tell me I don't know how to read an Arbitron book, call me Sonny and tell he has PROOF, that he and his cronies love oldies.. so because those 3 folks like, it'd be a hit here, lol.

Goodtimesgreatoldies,

You apparently live in the Anderson area. Can you get 92.9 in the Abbeville/Greenwood area? They have their own oldies station and it carries a satellite pretty much 24/7 I think. WZLA in Abbeville...they are 6kW. Maybe you would enjoy that.

"Z93, WZLA" has a local morning drive show. They also stream at www.z93oldies.com at 64K Stereo.

They used to have local afternoon drive too.. but when Allen "Boogie" Gowan got fired, Jane Cann moved up to morning drive, they slapped on the sat feed for PM Drive.. and I don't think it's Jane Cann doing AM Drive anymore but someone else local.

I am listening to them now over the internet and it sounds pretty good and think that this would satisfy him.

The WZLA Oldies feed is weak. The Ron Santos one out of LA. The local Oldies were real good with Jann Cann and Boogie. Why did Boogie and Jane get fired from WZLA?

The Dial Global feed WZLA carries is fine.... but nothing but True Oldies is good enough for you, eh?

Boogie was fired for being late.... he had been late several times and was told if he was late once more, he'd be let go.... he knew it and he was late.

Jane is a mother and I don't think the early hours worked well for her.

Boogie is on WLMA 1350 Fridays from 3 until 7pm, streaming online at www.wlma.net

WZLA was carrying Slammin' Gold/Oldies Radio (now called Classic Hits) format before the switch to DialGlobal. As I'm sure you all know Oldies Radio (now Classic Hits) was distributed by ABC Radio, who also distributes the almighty TOC.
