Trying to remember the name of a former WICE newsman

Back in the 60's, WICE had a newsman with a great set of pipes.

He was just over the top in the way he presented the news where he could make a story about a cat stuck in a tree in Cranston sound like the Russians had just sailed into Narraganset Bay. I *think* his first name was Charles.

I do remember King Arthur Knight and Bill Corsair.

I was in prep school in Woonsocket so we were forced to listen to WPRO as WICE did not make it up 146 at all. One summer (1966) I did a program at Rhode Island College and WICE was on all the time.

Does anyone know if former "NewsRadio 79" WEAN news person Maryann DiNunzio is still with us?

I have warm and fuzzy memories of her delivering the news on cold or snowy mornings in my long-past youth.

If I remember correctly, I think she was mostly on during morning drive, because I remember tuning the dial away from Salty Brine to get the news and weather on 790-WEAN.

I too remember Charles Scoville. Maryann DiNunzio was on WEAN in the NIS days; later on she was heard on WLKW and Ch. 36.
