Tubi and Fox Sports Launch Channel Dedicated to FIFA World Cup

The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha, Qatar, which starts Sunday, will represent a number of firsts for the quadrennial soccer tournament. It will be the first time the World Cup is being held in the Arab world, the first time it will be played in late autumn and the first time it will be hosted by a single city since the inaugural event in 1930.

The tournament will also create a number of broadcast firsts for U.S. English-language rightsholder Fox and Spanish-language rightsholder Telemundo in terms of both their on-the-ground presence and volume of coverage.

Misleading. Only Fox Sports will have the live games (in English). Tubi only gets highlight packages, games from past World Cups, and other World Cup-related feature content.
Tubi is airing full matches of this year's tournament, on delay(they are available as soon as the live Fox/FS1telecasts end).

As a channel and as on-demand videos.

Having just watched the USA v Iran game with many similarities to the Wales match I doubt we'll see the USA escape The Netherlands next Saturday. In both previous games the USA dominates the first half then plays a shabby defense the second. Wales got a tie but Iran came much closer and the USA was very lucky, yes very lucky, to escape with a win. This is not a good plan against a stronger opponent.

I was very displeased to see all the pushing, grabbing, tripping and flopping in this game. 9+ minutes of extra time is unacceptable!

Here are the numbers for the 2022 World Cup involving the US vs Netherlands

DOHA, Qatar (AP) — The United States’ tournament-ending 3-1 loss to the Netherlands at the World Cup was seen by 16.5 million on U.S. English- and Spanish-language television and digital streams, according to figures released by Fox and Telemundo.

Fox said its coverage of the round of 16 match, which started at 10 a.m. EST on Saturday, was viewed by an average of 12.9 million. That included almost 600,000 on its digital streaming services.

Telemundo said its Spanish-language coverage was seen by 3.58 million, including 1.26 million for its digital streams on Telemundo and Peacock.
