TV coverage of the shooting of President Trump, 7/13/2024

The gun laws are so loose that you can walk around with an automatic rifle, and can't actually charged with anything unless you fire it at someone. There are "open carry" laws. They may be able to get him for trespassing. But to say it was an "attempted assassination" is incorrect, since he never fired his gun. They have to be careful how they charge him, because if they charge him wrong, he could get off like Kyle Rittenhouse.
 
Sunday, NBC had a two-minute special report during the IndyCar telecast (after the finish of the race) anchored by Hallie Jackson. Lester Holt handled NBC Nightly News.
