TV Land to honor 50th anniversary of Dick Van Dyke

Next week, according to their schedule and on-air promos, TV Land will be honoring the 50th anniversary of The Dick Van Dyke show, airing episodes from 6pm-9pm next week then from 12pm-9pm on the following Saturday and Sunday. Not sure if it'll join the regular lineup, or if this is a special event.

In other TV Land news, Scrubs will return next week and air from 9pm-10pm, bumping 'Raymond' to 10pm-12pm, and some changes will occur in the late-night marathons. All In The Family is expiring 9/31 and will not be renewed, so it will be gone from the line-up.

I rarely watch TV Land (most of my classic TV viewing is on Me-TV), but it's good to see them honoring a true classic, even if it IS cut to pieces and the network is in a not-so-great state. They last aired it in 2006.

It seemed just like yesterday that Dick Van Dyke was the on-air spokesperson for Nick At Nite, in promos touting that they "preserve" their "television heritage"; his show was also on Nick's schedule at the time.

Today, Nick's running "Roseanne" marathons, and TV Land is no different... but kudos to TVL for recognizing this anniversary.
