TWC Houston adds GLBT channel, drops its own weather channel

Noticed this morning that Time Warner Houston has added the Gay-targeted Q Television Network on Channel 537. It's either a subscription or "on request" basis as it is showing as "not authorized" on my digital converter.

More info on this at http://www.qtelevision.com/site/

At the same time, TW has dropped its local "Houston Weather Now" channel 99. I suppose the glut of alternative weather info available elsewhere on cable (such as the broadcast digital subchannels) made HWN expendable.

One other TW change: AZNTV has been kicked off the analog tier and relocated as digital channel 237.

Perfect timing, eh? 5 1/2 inches of rain today.

Yup, that's how I discovered HWN was gone...was checking to see when the weather would move out.

Wonder if TW would add The Weather Channel's "WeatherScan Local" which I've seen on other systems.
