"Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

Unless the producers decide how to go around the character of Charlie Harper and see how Jon Cryer and Angus Jones carries the show alone without Charlie Sheen, I'm guessing the doors of cancellation may be closing in on this show. Sheen's rant may have just about done it anyways.

At least Angus Jones won't have to worry about money or getting another job the rest of his life because the show made plenty of money for him reportedly around 50 million dollars worth if I'm not mistaken.

Bring Shatner in as a relative, his "(beep) My Father Says" is supposedly being canceled :D

Hopefully not I like that show.

Sucks that Two And A half Men might face cancellation.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

From the article:

For what it's worth ... Charlie also said he's ready to get back to work.

After that tirade, Chuck Lorre will make sure he won't work in this town again -- "town" meaning anywhere in the US, and "work" meaning anything that makes any money at all.

Charlie not only burned bridges with his tirade -- he practically nuked the entire industry.

If his show is renewed, it'll be called "One and a Half Men"; as for Charlie's character, he'll either be killed off, or he'll just "disappear" with no explanation, just like Chuck Cunningham on "Happy Days".

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

They just need to end it. There are way more enough episodes in syndication and Charile's role is a big part of the show. He is offically bi-polar and after hearing the interview Im too done with this story. CBS made a smart move ending production. They'll find another hit with all of the CSI crap they have on. The cast and crew deserve better. How would you feel if you were on that show sitting around waiting to see if the star is gonna come back or quit?

After going through this same crud with Brett Butler with "Grace Under Fire" and then Cybil Shepard with her sitcom I'm surprised Chuck hasn't thrown in the towel yet (helps that the vanity cards give him a weekly dose of free therapy). The poor guy is doing a great job with this, "Big Bang Theory" and "Mike & Molly" and doesn't deserve to be held hostage by this bonehead. Thankfully "Mike & Molly" might be in good position to slip right into the 9pm slot and establish itself as a stalwart if "Two and a Half Men" is gone, and I don't see Billy Gardell or Melissa McCarthy ever either having personal problems or having a Rolodex full of adult film celebrities to jet off with.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

I wonder if Paul Reiser's ego was hard to deal with behind the scenes during the filming of "My Two Dads..."

Actually, I kinda like desertv's idea of merging the two shows "Two And A Half Men" and "$#!t My Dad Says". That might get the show bigger ratings than its current (albeit currently suspended) form.

Meanwhile, the house of cards is just starting to fall apart for Sheen, as he is at risk of losing his role in a planned sequel of the "Major League" franchise because the producer thinks he's a male version of Lindsay Lohan.

$50 million for playing a doofus on TV. Hell I went into the wrong line of work. :(

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

What CBS show will now get the coveted Monday 9/8 slot?

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Sh

Angus was reported to have his salary increased to $300,000 per episode for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 season, plus a $500,000 resign bonus.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

As opposed to a "resigning" (i.e. quitting) bonus for Mr. Sheen. ::)

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

So it's not just production suspension... it's a done deal - done, as in "done."

Wow. You'd think Chuck would learn from Mel Gibson or that fellow from CNN about what he was saying... If anything, we're guaranteed an interesting edition of "The Daily Show" on Monday.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

Big deal. Superstar goes on a snit fit. Lorre should have just scheduled the shoot and if Charlie didnt show this time, ax him.

Legally, Sheen verbally committed to showing up for work, but Lorre shut it down. Looks like despite all the negative pub, Charlie may have a legal foot to stand...or stumble on.

They should have just shot the last four episodes, then see if Sheen survives the summer, lol.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

Bring in Ted McGinley. He can save any flailing show.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

sorry, but I'm with Charlie on this one. Besides the "insult"(probably deserved) to the CBS brass, Charlie also made a well-deserved comment about the ridiculousness of the TSA. As for Chuck Lorre, he isn't the only game in town. Money talks, and Charlie will find somewhere else to work. And the loser will be CBS and their pot-of-gold in "2 1/2 Men". Of course, CBS is known for dumb moves--can you say "New York's Jack FM".

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

Could this all be an incredible publicity stunt?
I did notice in several recent episodes that Charlies drinking and partyn' and the effects on him were brought up. Honestly, who could survive that lifestyle for very long. Not even me in my much younger days. Could that be an out for his character? I like the show and hope that it continues in some form with or without Charlie.
