"Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

I actually heard about the last half of the Jones show with Sheen, and it sounded like Sheen had talked to Jones before. I was a little surprised to hear Sheen publicly talk about CBS in that matter, but figured Jones' show is so obscure, who would notice.

Of course, Sheen has also spoken his mind on the Dan Patrick Show, and has sent E-mail statements to TMZ, which is pretty much equivalent to directly sending them to the entire Hollywood community. (There's a newspaper article out of Pittsburgh, where the show's director is from, that says he found out about much of Charlie's recent antics when someone at the show told him to check TMZ...)

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

Today's TRI newsletter noted that Sheen indeed appear on Jones' show on 2006 and was baffled that terrorists took out "75% of their targets" (pilots on three of four commercial airliners, all but the one that landed in Shanksville, PA).

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

dealine.com is reporting that Sheen was on Today and Good Morning America today

He wants to sue CBS and Warner Brothers
He wants to double his salary to $3 million per episode
He want $10 million for his "tell all" book (from another source)

ABC will pre-empt Detroit 1-8-7 on March 1 (10PM) for a 20/20 Sheen "special"

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

And the only reason an installment of "20/20" is magically appearing on a Tuesday?

That's right... There ain't no more Fridays left in the February sweeps. ::)

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

It might also be on a Tuesday because it's the furthest from Monday, and the number of people being chased over to CBS by Sheen coverage would probably be minimal by next week. Maybe?

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

I think Detroit 1-8-7 is one of if not the lowest rated show on ABC. This special should get
them better numbers than it would have.

Michael J Fox is the obvious choice to replace Sheen :)
Good one. I'd like to see them try it.

The Parkinson's symptoms could be explained by Charlie Harper's reckless behavior.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

so charlie sheen let his addictive behaviors get to the point where he hurt the show and the network dropped him but the network is the bad guy. not his drinking , drug use and hanging around with porn stars and hookers.sheen is just a victim?

if that is the case society is in so much trouble.

Let's not confuse Charlie Sheen's skewed viewpoints with those of his viewers, or most Americans. And let's not confuse the showbiz world with "society" in general.

All they have to do is bring in Emilio Estevez and tell him to act a little more like his brother. Problem solved!

Here's a recent picture of Estevez:

Except he was already on the show and died.

That didn't stop Harry Morgan coming back to M*A*S*H to play Colonel Sherman T. Potter after playing Maj. Gen. Bartford Hamilton Steele. In that episode General Steele is sent off to the loony bin.

Just saying. ;)

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

I dont understand why these actors flyoff the handle with their producers. If it wasn't for Chuck Lorre.Charlie will have no acting job on the show.now it looks like he's with out one.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

I think the show is DEAD. Nobody is going to pay Sheen $3 million per show. Once again, I
do not watch, but I don't think the show would be the same with a replacement. They could
always kill off his character (I'd suggest an overdose) and try with 1 1/2 men. But would
it fly? Delta Burke left Designing Women and the show went on, but it was never the same.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

I can usually stay pretty disconnected between the actor and the characters they play but I have to admit, after being a devout fan of "2 1/2" almost since its inception, I am beginning to not like Sheen or his character.

Like an old-fashioned WB cartoon it is enjoyable partly because it is fantasy and you know that Wile E. Coyote will be back unchanged after his fall down the cliff. Looking at Charlie Harper though reminds you that the actor Charlie Sheen is falling down a cliff and unlike the character he plays might not get up again. The comedy aspect begins to take on serious overtones and becomes unfunny.

It is a greater disaster than just Sheen though because it also throws great writing and a superlative cast to the curb. Except perhaps for Jon Cryer the remainder of the cast is probably done with meaningful roles once "2 1/2" ends. It isn't just Sheen carrying the show and I'm beginning to think he has lost sight of that in his selfish behavior and comments. He seems to be a prima donna and unfortunately he will probably find out the world will go on without him.

Sad. Very sad.

How many times did Sheen show up drunk or not show up to work at all?

According to industry watchers, and Charlie himself, he never showed up to work incapable of doing so.

OTOH, his increasingly moronic rants are most probably turning even his most adoring fans off to the extent that if he is permanently released from "2 1/2" his career is effectively over.

I'm guessing Chuck Lorre is now wishing Charlie would go away and he could reconstruct the remaining assets of the show into a "phase 2 1/2" using the remaining writers and cast.

I'm sure the folks at E! are already licking their chops to get started on "Angus T. Jones: The True Hollywood Story." :-X

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

i had a mind picture of charlie sheen on an interview show doing one of his rants and martin sheen coming on camera, dragging charlie off set by the ear saying things like "you know i raised you better then that.......".

Thanks, just wondering how much of this had to do with Sheen's performance and how much it had to do with Chuck and the rest of the guys at CBS having their ego's hurt, looks like its all ego.

Re: "Two And A Half Men" Production Halted After Sheen Goes Off On Alex Jones Show

Today on Fox-10's Morning Show here in Phoenix the hosts interviewed a guest who was part of the Hollywood publicity/management world for a decade before opening his own biz here. He stated several interesting points:

1. Charlie might be trying to get C(BS) to cancel his contract so he can pursue other interests. Some sort of show on HBO was mentioned but I didn't catch the details (if they were mentioned).

2. There is an unwritten law in Hollywood that you can stab someone in the back but never in the heart as it's all about perception and image. In his opinion Charlie had done some heart-stabbing and it would be virtually impossible for industry people to overlook that.

3. As for "2 1/2" he opined it is probably over as Sheen now cannot be bonded and without a performance bond no production company will hire him.

4. He sees Charlie on a predictable downward spiral and said it most likely will end in suicide. Personally, I think that is a leap but assuming Sheen is speaking honestly about his self-importance it isn't beyond possibility that a career free-fall would make him even crazier than he appears to be at the moment.

Pretty dismal prognosis for all concerned.
