During my lunch hour today, I was sitting in my car flipping through the stations, and on 87.7 I heard two different signals alternating with each other.
Both of them were in Spanish. One sounded like a regular FM station (in full-blown FM stereo), while the other one sounded like TV audio. The latter was definitely a channel 6 TV station; not sure if the other was the same thing operating like a radio station, or if it was solely an FM signal.
While both were intelligible, I did not hear anything that gave me a clue as to where each signal was coming from, as I only know a limited amount of Spanish. A safe guess would be that the TV station originated from Mexico or Cuba, although somewhere in Central or South America may be a possibility based on some of the posts I've read on here lately. As for the signal that was in full FM stereo- what are the laws regarding using frequencies below 88.1 as FM signals in most Latin American countries?
Neither signal stayed long enough for me to hear any identifying material. I tuned in again on my way home from work this evening, and heard the TV signal a couple of times along the way, but it only faded in and out and didn't stay for long each time.
