TX STATION DUMPS SYNDICATION IN FAVOR OF LIVE JOCKS

Would be nice to think that maybe there's still a chance for humans in radio...don't think this is much of a risk for Cumulus though, KTCX dominates the Beaumont-Port A market and it's a cash cow.....

The recent article about the country station in Florida gives me hope about radio moving back towards local, live jocks. Good job, KAYD. Hope it works out in the long run.

I wouldn't look for mega-companies like Clear Channel to edge back toward live jocks. They have figured out a way to do it without them, and the budget would never allow it. But, for those smaller stations (particularly those in smaller markets), it might be the ONLY way to compete effectively by making their product VERY localized and listener-responsive.
