Amy Austin is coming back to KKUS?! Or KNUE?!

I don't believe it! And to be in the business now is crazy.I mean rat, in the methlab wrapped up and slammed and locked in a outhouse crazy. Its not logical either. So, Amy my dear, please stay put, unless you have a guaranteed contract, not a regular etradio bs contract. And, of course free coffee too. Anyway, I don't believe. I mean, why would you want to come back to the insanity? Yes?

Gibbs

However, wouldn't you think KNUE? The last big wonderful radio dynasty in these parts before everything just came tumbling on down.

Amy has radio in her blood...like most of us. I'm not surprised she's getting back into the biz at all. Glad to hear she will be back on the air in ET soon...I hope.

Hope it is KNUE! It is always GREAT to go back home! You know where the landmines and know generally who to trust. I still can't see KKUS. Go girl, good for you Amy!

Chuck

And for good reason, too! I'm glad that Amy did NOT give up hope in getting a gig in radio. I just hope to heaven above that the peeps at GAP would be nice to her and not give her the runaround. They say that you can't go home again, but as far as KNUE, definetly a welcome exception for Amy. And I tried to get in touch with her for months since I've returned to East Texas back in November......STILL NO ANSWER!!

Amy Austin is back where her first programming roots in East Texas country radio started. Whatever they can get Amy to do, it better be something she can sink her teeth into. I miss her on the radio and I just can't wait to hear her voice again!

Breeze is in ET? What happened to Greenville? Are you back in Radio? Update us doode!

Well, 'Sweep I had to let the muddy Mississippi go after four enjoyable years and reside back to "whence I came." I haven't been in radio in East Texas since I left almost six years ago. I'm currently in Longview making noise of my own with my recently launched online station called Urban Variety Universe (which is on right now) while I work in customer service via Sitel to feed this musical habit. I'll tell you about it off-board. You know my e-mail address, hit me up sometime.

Amy's back in Austin....Oooops Tyler! About freakin time. Can't wait for the 15th to tune to 101.5 and hear the angelic tones of miss Amy. It's amazing how one person can make an impact Amy has done that in Radio where ever she was worked. Once in contact with her and you never forget that laugh that lights up a room or how loyal she is when comes to friendships. This world is a better place with her in and GAP Broadcasting has stepped up and landed a true pro. You and Blues Eyes will take it to the next level. Congrats and best of luck to all other jocks going up against her.

Cool. We are all so proud of her! Learned alot from her when she was my pd at KNUE.

Agreed. Agreed. And agreed. Great to know Amy's back on the air. Chuck, wonder if we'll see hear you on there again? Even though I'm not in over-the-air earshot anymore, I sure hope to hear you're back doing what you love to do again soon.

Hiya C,
Answer your question. I love being on the air. Love radio! I like programming, providing you have the right staff, I lucked out, I had a great team, their good kids and I will always love them.
My belief is that with staffs contracting as they as, they also will probaley NEVER expand again. One Man, One Station. Or as I have said "eventually, it will be an inflatable doll in front of a laptop". For along time I've had a online station in my head. A combination of pure country,...the classics, crossovers....Texas Stuff.....George Strait, Meets CCR(or CSNY "teach your children"...Meets Patsy Cline, Steve Earle and back around to Hank Sr(of course)......Have it all tied to Amazon to make some shopping money for the misssus. With that said. I've really had in my head "what do I do if I don't do radio". I am working on that now. Because, the East Texas options are few, very few these days, with syndication and such. Which is not a bash on syndication. When I saw Don Imus' show go Barter about 3 months ago, I thought ETRG should have flipped one of weaker sisters and gone talk. Then be "East Texas Talk Leader"....by default... Thats just me talking out of my piehole. As of this post, its 8pm Sunday night. 14 hours til the return the goddess, Any Austin. Lets get the tape ready to role.
