U S Congressional Reprresentative Starts Petition Calling for Limbauagh Firing

It just galls me how so many people (including politicians and journalists) have so not gotten this story right.

Rush Limbaugh OWNS his show and ClearChannel (Premiere Networks) does sales and distribution of the show.

Also, what about the First Amendment right to freedom of speech, freedom of the press....

Idiots...
I love this, your espousing that the first amendment allows a broadcaster to defame an individual without recourse. No one has the right to make up stories about a person just because they have freedom of speech and access to the public airwaves. If that were true you could be called a child molester & an exhibitionist on over 600 radio stations even though its not true, but just because it would be an entertaining story to make up. That is basically what Limbaugh did. He intentionally (or unintentionally) lied about her testimony. So, before you throw any stones at others....

The first amendment issue here would be that the person calling for a broadcaster to be fired is a member of Congress, and the first amendment says "Congress shall make no act..." Yes, she wasn't acting in the halls of Congress, or in concert with the rest of the House, but if she signed the petition using her title, it could be a conflict. However, the chances of CC paying attention to a silly petition are pretty slim.
