If you grew up in the New York metropolitan area during the 70s and '80s–and specifically from North Jersey–you probably have seen The Uncle Floyd Show at least once. Between local public-access cable and broadcast television (WBTB-TV/WTVG/WWHT, WNBC-TV, and New Jersey Network), the program ran for close to 30 years.
He played the piano, told jokes with Oogie, did comedy skits with his ensemble of performers, and introduced viewers to local rock bands. Uncle Floyd continued to maintain a live performance schedule after the TV show wrapped, until he suffered a stroke in 2023.
